Jennifer Appleby is president and chief creative officer of Wray Ward, a creative marketing communications firm that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Wray Ward specializes in providing powerful creative solutions that help build their clients' businesses and brands through strategic planning, media planning and buying, creative, public relations, direct marketing and interactive services. The agency works with a diverse client base including Crescent Resources, Springs Global, Sunbrella fabrics, Huber Engineered Woods, the North Carolina Education Lottery, VELUX America and WIX Filters. Active in the community, Jennifer is the immediate past chair of the Arts and Science Council and serves on the boards of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, Charlotte Center City Partners and the Charlotte Chamber. Her commitment to the community is reflected in Wray Ward's history of pro-bono work with organizations including the ASC, United Way, Discovery Place, the American Red Cross, Junior Achievement and Communities in Schools. Among her business and community awards are the Charlotte Business Journal's Women In Business Achievement Award and the Women In Communications' ACE Award. Jennifer also won the Charlotte Ad Club's Silver Medal Award and has been a finalist for the BusinessWoman of the Year Award. She is a graduate of Penn State University and lives in Charlotte with her husband and two daughters.


Garland M. Jones is the managing officer of Jones & Jones Construction, LLC. Jones & Jones is an unlimited licensed general contractor doing business in construction management, land development and building construction. The company recently was the first minority general contractor to complete a project for the Wake Forest University Health Sciences Office of Technology and Asset Management. Jones & Jones also builds unique custom homes, additions, renovations, interior up-fits and uses high quality construction standards in all aspects of its business. Garland is committed to diversity in the construction industry and encourages joint venture partners to increase minority participation in commercial construction including industrial, education, hotels, multifamily and mixed-use development. Prior to entering the construction industry, Garland worked for both General Motors and Mobil Oil gaining vast experiences in learning how to operate a business. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from North Carolina A&T State University.


Glen Schaaf is a sales director for LQ Performance Strategies. LQ Performance Strategies partners with clients to help them reengage their organizations through providing programs and processes to their sales and leadership teams. Glen has 25 years of sales and leadership experience. After earning a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in business administration with a focus on marketing and transportation/logistics, Glen has spent the past 14 years in the training/consulting industry partnering with clients to make them more productive and to increase their sales and leadership teams.


Charles (Chuck) Collier, a longtime resident of Charlotte, recently joined Toffler Associates®, the strategic advisory and management consulting firm founded in 1996 by worldrenowned authors and "futurists" Alvin and Heidi Toffler. Toffler Associates works with senior executives in commercial businesses and Government agencies to help them position their enterprises to thrive as we move into an uncertain future. Toffler's professionals are experts at analyzing the underlying dynamics of competitive and business decisions, and providing actionable recommendations for how to take advantage of those dynamics to make clients' businesses ucceed. The firm's expertise encompasses strategic planning, growth strategies, organizational design, market assessments, risk analysis, and more, for clients in the IT, telecommunications, aerospace, financial services, and other industries. Collier has more than 30 years of experience in operational and strategic planning and execution, training and professional development, leadership development, and managing people and activities to meet the operational and strategic goals of public and private sector organizations. Chuck is the former commander of the North Carolina Air National Guard (Brigadier General Retired) and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
