Air quality and transportation are inherently linked. Many experts agree that slow, congested traffic is a major contributor to poor air quality in urban areas. Transportation alternatives, such as light rail, buses and pedestrian-friendly streets, are an important part of relieving congestion. But keeping traffic moving on our roads and highways is equally important and a major part of the Charlotte Chamber’s 2008 Program of Work.
