Welcome to Charlotte and pardon the progress as we continue blossoming from a midsize community into a cosmopolitan city. Our namesake, Queen Charlotte Sophia, German-born wife of King George III of England, would surely be proud to know we're getting our own Ritz-Carlton Hotel. And if that didn't impress her, we could always share the story of how we scored the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

If you're reading this, you've either just moved here, or you're considering it. The good news is that most Charlotteans aren't from here either. They hail from all over and, like you, came for reasons ranging from work to weather – although some will tell you it was the southern hospitality, BBQ and sweet tea that sealed the deal.

As you get to know the Queen City, we encourage you to put her to the same test as a potential mate – introduce her to friends and family, applying your highest standards. We think you'll find in our city the same attractive qualities that make humans fall head over heels with each other. For the top 10 reasons you'll fall in love with Charlotte, click here.
