Charles O. Holliday, chairman and former CEO of DuPont, Inc., will introduce Jim Rogers when he receives the 2009 Citizen of the Carolinas award at the Charlotte Chamber's Annual Meeting.

Holliday and Rogers, president and CEO of Duke Energy, are friends and long-time colleagues.

The award will be presented to Rogers at the chamber's Annual Meeting on November 16 at the Charlotte Convention Center. The Citizen of the Carolinas Award is the most prestigious award presented by the Charlotte Chamber. Rogers will be honored for his broad history of service and success in the energy field.

Past winners of the award include the Rev. Billy Graham, Marion Wright Edelman, Coach Dean Smith, Hugh McColl, Michael Jordan, Ben Bernanke and Jerry Richardson.
